
Four students of the Electronic and Electrical Engineering department from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife have received The 2022 Edition of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Smart Village Africa Working Group (ISVx-AWG) Award.
400level Emmanuel Innocent and Abiola Ogundeji, 300level Michael Adesiyan with 200level Emeka Simeon participated in the second edition of the student technical paper competition this year.
The topic for this year’s edition was “Poverty Alleviation in Africa by System of Systems Approach – Technologies, Applications, Benefits, and Challenges ‘.
According to the organiser, 23 different papers were received from students across the African continent where OAU Team was selected and awarded as the second best paper in Category A—Postgraduate and Undergraduate category.
The award was presented during the IEEE PowerAfrica Conference 2022, held in Kigali, Rwanda from August 22 to August 26.
