One person, on Wednesday, lost his life while two others sustained varying degrees of injury in a fatal accident at Agulu junction, in Anocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

An eye witness said four of the victims were travelling in the pickup, with two seated inside and two in the bucket when the incident occurred.

Confirming the road crash, Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra state command, Mr Pascal Anigbo, attributed the crash to lane diversion.

According to him, “At about 9.30 am today Wednesday, August 5,  2020, we received a distress call on a fatal Road Traffic Crash which occurred near Golden Tulip Hotels Junction, Agulu.

“An FRSC rescue team from Nanka Outpost was dispatched to the scene immediately.

“The fatal crash involved a Toyota Highlander with enlistment number FGG33KJ and Hijet Daihatsu Pickup, without a registration number. A total of five male adults were also involved.

“Two sustained some degree of injuries and one death recorded.

“The victims were taken to St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi Nnukwu. Traffic control is ongoing.

“The Sector Commander FRSC, Andrew A. Kumapayi strongly warns drivers against all forms of dangerous driving.
