
Ataoja of Osogboland Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Larooye II has clarified that some people misinterpreted and misconstrued the statement he made at his palace on Tuesday over the disruption of peaceful atmosphere of Osogbo by some political hoodlums.
At a press conference held at the palace on Wednesday, Oba Oyetunji clarified that he was sounding note of warning to thugs during the visit by the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke to his palace.
According to the monarch, his assertion was that “nobody should do anything to disturb the peace and tranquility of Osogboland under the pretence of political activism.
He emphasized further that “Various political parties had paid visits to him without any untoward incident. This ought not to be misinterpreted to that I am using my position as the Ataoja of Osogboland to support the PDP in particular against all the other political parties including the party in power the APC.”
“I want to state that more political parties will still pay visit to my royal palace ahead of the July 16th Gubernatorial Election and I will not condone any act of violence from any political party against the other.”
“I hereby assert here in particular that the people of Osogbo appreciate the good work of the present party in Government in the State of Osun and will not do anything to truncate the peace and tranquility of the state in general and Osogbo in particular.” The monarch said.
He encouraged all sons and daughters Osogbo to go out en mass on 16th July, and vote for the candidate of their choice, as he remain always unbiased and father to all.
“I appeal to the sons and daughters of Osogbo to go out en mass peacefully on the 16t of July to vote for the candidate of their choice without any act of violence. Your vote will count and don’t let any political party place a price tag on you.”
He used the medium to appreciate the incumbent governor, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for being a lover of peace at all time. “I want to thank Governor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola for being a lover of peace and I pledge my unalloyed loyalty to him and his government.”
