
Candidate of the People’s Democratic party PDP and Minority Leader in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Babajide Kofoworola has been declared winner of the Saturday’s election into the Ede North State assembly.
The returning Officer for Ede North Local Government, Professor Popoola Bayode of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ifẹ made the announcement at the Collation centre located at the Local Government headquarters of INEC along Egbedi Road, oke Gada Ede.
Prof. Bayode said the PDP candidate scored the highest number of lawful votes and was declared winner.
He said the PDP candidate had 17,530 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Abdulquadri Suleiman of the All Progressive Congress who polled 9,010 votes.
OSBC Governor’s Office Correspondent , Abdulraheem Adekilekun reported that the announcement led to a wild jubilation by members of the PDP who had thronged the Collation centre in anticipation of the announcement.
