
Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke has warned transport workers’ unions in the state to eschew violence and allow peace to reign in all motor parks.
This is in reaction to violence which erupted on Monday morning across some motor parks in Osogbo, the state capital by rival gangs within the transport unions in the state.
OSBC reporter gathered that there was a violence at the popular Oke Fia, Old Garage en route Ayetoro as early as 7am on Monday which made some commuters scamper for safety, due to some sporadic shootings.
In a statement signed by the spokesperson to Governor Adeleke, Olawale Rasheed, the governor directed all security agencies to maintain the status quo across the motor parks.
The statement reads: “Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has warned against violence among transport workers’ unions in the State, directing security agencies to maintain status quo across the motor parks.
“All union leaders and their supporters are hereby directed to remain calm and bring any grievances to the State Government for resolution.”
“Security agencies are consequently directly to maintain law and order,” the statement concluded.
