Osun state government has ordered former political appointees to return government properties in their possession for them to claim any entitlements.

This is contained in a statement on Wednesday by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.

The statement alleged that the Political appointees had appropriated government cars and properties in their care for their private use in violation of government regulations and extant laws.

Olawale said “the appointees not only left offices with their official cars, they also added service cars and others in clear violation of public service regulations.

”Some former officials admitted that the former Governor authorised them to claim the official cars even though there is no law that authorised the former Governor to such” act.

He noted that Many former appointees resisted the refusal of top bureaucrats to sign letters for the release of the vehicles, leading to clandestine disappearance of many official vehicles.

The statement maintained that those who engaged in pilfering and pillaging of public assets must return same before they can lay any claim to salaries or any other entitlements even as the Assets Recovery committee is intensifying efforts to revealing the culprits.
