
Market Women in Ede North and South local governments in Ede township on Tuesday received Nose Masks from Osun Government to curtail the contacting of Coronavirus known as Covid 19 at the market spaces.
This is also as Palliatives were also given to the people of Ede to break fast for the Ramadan.
The Governor State of Osun, represented by the Commissioner for Human Resources and Capacity Building, Alhaja Latifat Giwa charged the market women to maintain proper hygiene and protect themselves by ensuring that they remove the clothes worn to market and bath immediately at arrival from the market.
While insisting that they must not were the same cloth simultaneously to market, but to wash the cloth immediately when they reached home, She also advised them to always maintain social distance with the placement of the market stand, added that they should also eat good food supplement that boost hormone such as garlic, ginger, and vegetables among others.
Alhaja Giwa reiterated that the government of Osun under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola will not relent in it’s effort to ensure that the people of the state are adequately protected on things that has to do with lives and property.
She revealed that at the beginning of first lockdown in Ede town, there was distribution of food items such as bags of rice, beans, semovita, garri among other food items, as well as cash made available to some individuals to buy drugs and care for other necessity, added that the Aged, Less-privilege, Communities, Religious leaders, youths and students benefited from the relief and Ramadan package.
Alhaja Latifat Giwa who is also part of Ede constituency, stated that the people of Ede will continue to receive needed support under the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola and prayed God to bring an end to the pandemic Coronavirus, charged the people not to relent in the use of Personal Protective Equipment as they go about their businesses in the curfew period, while they are to maintain strict compliance to Government directive on days of lockdown in the state of Osun.
Major Markets visited in Ede North and South local governments included, Oja Sanya, Oja Total, Oja Timi, and in her company were the Iyalojas’ for the markets in Ede town.
