The management of Osun United has directed the backroom staff of team and the retained players to resume training on Monday, 14th October, 2019.
This followed the resolution made at the end of the meeting which held on Tuesday, 8th October, 2019 in Osogbo, capital of the state of Omoluabi.
Chaired by the Vice President of the club, Mr. Layi Adesiyan on behalf of Chief Ademola Adesina, the management said it was important that training begins ahead of the kickstart of the new season as plans are still underway for the team to secure a place in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Mr. Adesiyan therefore said backroom staff are expected to resume training with the retained players and other players believed to meet up with the intensive preparations within a short time, as there is no time for open camp again.
The management further maintained that final decision has not been taken on the backroom staff of the team as restructuring continues but a new head coach will soon be announced.
Mr. Adesiyan similarly appreciated complementary efforts of fans and supporters to the government which are believed to soon yield positive results in terms of getting required financial backing to weather the storms of NNL.
“All backroom staff and retained players should resume on Monday as a matter of duty as we hope for positive response from the government on our demands before next week”.
“We thank our fans and supporters for what they are doing which is a good back up to several meetings the present board has held with the past, present and even the incoming state council executives and it’s still a work in progress”, submitted Mr. Adesiyan.
