All is set for the smooth commencement of the third edition of Michael and Felicia Memorial Table Tennis tournament which begins on Wednesday April 26 at Otan-Ayegbaju, Osun State.
This was disclosed by the organizer of the tournament who doubles as the Chairman, Osun State Table Tennis Association, Ayo Alabi while speaking with newsmen in Osogbo on Monday
Alabi said over 400 table tennis players from 36 states and the FCT are expected to compete for trophy and other prizes, including cash.
According to him, the competition was “part of his initiatives to encourage youths to develop interest in sports and divert them from engaging in criminal activities.”
He maintained that raw talents in table tennis will be discovered from the competition who would be nurtured to international level to become successful and useful for themselves, their states and Nigeria as a whole.
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke is expected to grace the grand finale of the three-day event will climaxes Saturday in Otan Ayegbaju.
