,….. as Governor Oyetola Flags Off GEEP 0.2 in Osun State
Osun State Governr, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has disclosed that not less than Seven Thousand,Five Hundred and Thirty Seven (7,537) People from the State would enjoy the Interest Free Loans of the Federal Government under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP 0.2)
Oyetola also added that Seven Thousand, Five Hundred and Thirty Seven (7,537 ) intending beneficiaries from the State will be the highest in the Country
The Governor disclosed these on Monday in Osogbo during the Flag Off Ceremony of GEEP 0.2 ,an initiative of APC led Federal Government ,which aimed at given financial support and Empowerment Loans to small and medium scale business men and women across the country through Trader Money,Market money and Farmers Money
Oyetola who was represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the State Government of Osun, Prince Wole Oyebamiji said the State of Osun is the First State among other South West States to Flag Off the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme 0.2, noting that the flag-off marks the commencement of Loan disbursement to all intending beneficiaries in Osun State.
He assured beneficiaries that all of them will get their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) activated in order to receive the Fifty Thousand Naira Loan,. He also advised them to make judicious use of the loan in a way that will boost their businesses for the economic growth of Osun state in general.
The Governor also appreciated the relentless effort of President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq for their various social intervention programme that have uplifted a larger number of youths and women of Nigeria out of poverty.
In an address delivered by the Honourable Minister Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq said the social investment programme of the Federal Government was been implemented in close partnership with the state Government.,noting that it’s a collective commitment to address poverty which is the core developmental challenges that confront Nigerian people.
Hajiya Farouq stressed that GEEP 0.2 is meant to give priority to Widows,Youths disabled and the displaced who are involved in some commercial activity but have no opportunity to access loan.
He hitherto disclosed that the successful beneficiaries of the programme from the State of Osun will begin to receive a credit alert of #50,000 through the Access Bank starting from Monday 10th of October, 2022.
In his welcome Address,the Senior Special Assistant to Mr Governor on Social Intervention who also double as the State Focal person for the programmes,Mr Lukman Abimbola Bello said the programme was made possible due to t understanding and conviction of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on the needs to raise the living Standard for the vulnerable throughout the State.
Other speakers includes the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce ,Dr Bode Olaonipekun and Iya Loja General for the State ,Alhaja Awawu Asindemade
