In fulfillment of his promise to upgrade the College of Education, Ilesa to university status, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has signed the University of Ilesa Bill into law.
Governor Oyetola signed the bill into law a few minutes ago at the Banquet of the State House, Osogbo.
The Osun State House of Assembly had earlier passed the Bill on 8th August 2022.
Before its assent, the bill benefited significantly from the rigorous interrogation and review of the 12-man Prof. Olu Aina-led Implementation Committee constituted by Governor Oyetola.
This assent signals the formal kick-off of the new University, with the appointments of members of the Governing Council and principal officers expected to be made soon.
