Osun United Head Coach, Bright Omokaro (MON) has downplayed the hype given to the South West derby between the ‘Omoluabi Giants’ and the ‘Oluyole Warriors’ by labelling it to be like every other game.
Omokaro, who was elated after his side’s home victory against FC Nilayo of Abeokuta said the victory was priceless and timely.
“When we played our first game against Ekiti United and won, I told the boys that we needed to win our next home game against FC Nilayo and I was happy we did that in grand style. We dominated the possession and won the match convincinly which is a good morale booster for the team.”
“I must confess to you that there were some rough edges in our first game which were fine-tuned before the match against Nilayo. We will continue to do our best so as to have a formidable team to compete with any team in the league”.
Omokaro also spoke about the chances of Osun United against 3SC in their next game saying there wouldn’t be any better time to play against 3SC than now when the Omoluabi Giants are in high spirit.
“I know that 3sc are a very strong side and I give kudos to them for their exploits so far this season but I must tell you we have a good team that can compete with them. I am aware they defeated us last season but it’s not going to be business as usual this season because we are going to Ibadan to shock them”.
“I am optimistic that with God on our side, the unwavering support of our indefatigable fans, supporters and everybody in the state, the Omoluabi Giants will give the Oluyole Warriors a run for their money”.
The table topping clash between Osun United and 3SC will hold on Sunday, 8th December at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba Ibadan.
