The Osun State police commissioner, Abiodun Ige has confirmed that some men who were believed to be political thugs were arrested during the last saturday presidential and national assembly elections, saying no one was shot by either the police or the suspected thugs.

The police boss  who made this known in a release signed by the command Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP Folasade Odoro, noted that those arrested have been subjected to systematic investigations by a team of police detectives.

The release was coming on the heels of a report of a couple who were reportedly shot by thugs in Ilare, a town in Obokun local government area of Osun State.

The CP noted that the report published in most online media platforms are misleading, spurious, and politically motivated, charging journalists to always use their medium to promote peace and harmonious coexistence within the people of the state and country at large with an apt understanding of the country’s political momentum.
