DELTA State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa, has denied that a policeman shot dead a protesting youth in The Polytechnic community of Ozoro, Isoko LGA, on Monday.

Rather, the CP stated that a bullet from one of the armed protesters killed the victim.

Speaking to journalists in Warri during a telephone conversation, Inuwa insisted that it was a protest of Yahoo Boys and not just aggrieved youths, as it was been widely reported.

The CP said, “As long as they continue to do crime, we will not relent in our efforts to deal with them and bring them to book.

“I have spoken with the Chairman of Isoko Local Government Area, and what he told me is that the protesters were Yahoo Boys.

“Also, the DPO told me that it was not the bullet of the police that killed the youth. The police in Delta are committed to fighting crime and criminality.”

Recall that pandemonium erupted in Ozoro on Monday as a protesting youth was shot dead by a yet-to-be identified gunman suspected to be one of the policemen attached to the Ozoro Police Division.
