The Nigerian Red Cross has begged the public for blood donations for victims of the collapsed building on Lagos Island. Mr Olakunle Lasisi, Secretary of NRC, made the appeal in Lagos. Speaking on the hashtags #Donate For Ita-faji and #save the Ita-faji children trending on social media, he solicited for blood donations from the public.
The collapsed building had up to 10 children who were among scores of people missing after the building collapsed in Lagos.
Many rescuers were at the site trying to save them through the roof of the damaged structure.
The children were attending a nursery and primary school on the top floor of the residential building when the structure collapsed. Police said they believed a number of people were trapped under the ruins.

confirmed that the information was true from the Lagos State Blood Transfusion
Service .They said It was launched by the MD of the General Hospital, so they
can have enough blood in the bank to assist the casualties of the collapsed
building.
