A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt declared the Accord Party governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dumo Lulu Briggs, unfit to contest in the March 9 governorship election.
According to the presiding judge, Justice Emmanuel Obile, Lulu Briggs did not participate in the primaries conducted on October 4, 2018.
The judge said Briggs was a governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the time of conducting the primary.
Justice Obile, therefore, declared Lulu Briggs’ candidacy as null, void and unconstitutional.
The court, thereafter, ordered INEC to replace his name with the plantiff, Precious Baridoo as the candidate of the party.
