Bordeaux star, Remi Oudin, has provided the latest update on teammate Samuel Kalu’s condition after the Nigerian winger collapsed on the pitch only five minutes into their Ligue 1 fixture against Marseille on Sunday night.

It was reported that Kalu, 23, was allowed to play on after receiving treatment from medical staff.

However, the Super Eagles forward was taken off eight minutes later.

Kalu was preparing to form a defensive wall for a free-kick when he fell to the pitch as the match eventually ended 2-2 after normal time.

Providing an update on Kalu’s condition, Oudin, who replaced the Nigerian, said at his post-match press conference that he would undergo tests on Monday, adding that his teammate had a simple discomfort during the encounter.

“Kalu’s incident gave us chills. It’s always a bit shocking for spectators and players on the pitch,” Oudin said.

“With what happened with Eriksen at the Euros, we think about it. Everyone got a little scared. Fortunately, it ended well.

“According to the doctors, it’s a simple discomfort but he will certainly be undergoing tests on Monday.”
