Two die, seven injured in Osun fatal road accident

Two persons lost their lives while seven others got injured in a fatal road accident which occurred on the Ilesa-Ife expressway on Sunday evening.

The crash which occurred around Royal Farm, Tonkere axis of the road involved a white coloured Toyota Hiace bus with registration number AGL708XD and a white coloured MAC trailer with registration number JGB470ZT.

Information made available by Agnes Ogungbemi, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Osun Sector Command reveals that 23 persons were involved in the accident while seven were injured with two recorded deaths, adding that the deceased were both adult males.

She also revealed that the probable cause of the crash was over-speeding and road traffic violations.

Ogungbemi stated that the injured victims were taken to a private hospital in Ipetumodu, while the corpses were taken to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC) morgue by the command’s rescue team.
