Chief Executive Officer of Hammola International FC, Ido Osun Odeyemi Muhydeen has expressed satisfaction with the participation of his team the 2022 Optima Energy Gold.Cup in Ikenne, Ogun State, saying his team didn’t have a bad outing.
Speaking with journalists in Ikenne after the last group game against a Nigeria National League (NNL) Side, Gateway United of Abeokuta, Odhelee said his mission to participate in the tourney was for his club to mingle with the ‘Big Boys’ and showcase the quality of his team to the world
“We came here to learn from our bigger brothers. We have no worries losing to them. Hammola FC is a very young team and was participating in this tourney for the first time. Our performance wasn’t bad as we’re able to test our ability with big boys from NPFL. In all our matches, we stuck with our philosophy of good football and I am happy with the commendation received from coaches of other teams.
“Playing against teams like Niger Tornadoes of Minna, Remo Stars of Ikenne, Sunshine Stars of Akure and Gateway United wasn’t a child’s play. Even all these teams confessed to have struggled to beat us. This is a sign of improvement and we will strive to sustain it and work harder against next year.
Muhydeen however noted that Hammola FC has put the performance at the gold cup behind and was hoping to end the year on a good note.
“Year 2022 has been a wonderful year for us. We emerged winner of Osun FA Cup, we won Timi Agbale Egalitarian Soccer Championship and are also presently in the final of Abiola Foundation Cup in Ifon Osun. Our focus now is to win the tournament and end the year as the champions of Hammola Football Championship which begins next month,” submitted Odhelee
