A young horticulturist at the Seplat office in Sapele, Delta State, has allegedly committed suicide.

The victim, however, gave no reason for his action.

It was gathered that the young man, identified simply as Ochuko, lived on Onamate Street, Off New Ogorode Road, Sapele.

Sources disclosed that he suffered from mental illness as he allegedly complained of an invincible hand slapping him before the incident.

It was also learnt that he recently had issues with his girlfriend.

A source told newsmen that a day to the incident, he allegedly removed his SIM card from his phone and did not show up at his place of work on the day he took his life.

It was also gathered that in less than three months, four cases of suicide, related to mental health, had been recorded in Sapele.

Concerned residents called for urgent public intervention with a view to proffering measures to checkmate such issues from festering in the community.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for comments as of the time of filing this report.
