The International Conference Centre, Abuja is a beehive of activities as Nigerians from all works of life converges at the centre to celebrate the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as he marks his 67th birthday.
Speaking at the colloquim, Asiwaju Tinubu asked the federal government to put a huge question mark in the planned increase in value added tax, saying it will be an attempt to further tax the ordinary man in the country.
The APC national leader said
government should widen the tax network and ensure that all those Nigerians who
have refused to pay their tax are made to do so as a way of raising revenue for
government.
He maintained that increasing vat at this stage will not help the ordinary man in the country, adding that those in charge of generating revenue for the country must begin to think of other sources of revenue.
