
Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola alongside his wife, Kafayat Oyetola on Saturday exercised his franchise in the Local Government Election as they both cast their votes at LA primary school, Popo ward 2 unit 1, in Iragbiji, headquarters of Boripe local government.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after casting his vote, the governor who lauded electorates for coming out said this was a sign of acceptance of the election.
He said “the peaceful and successful conduct of this local government election is a sign that democracy is thriving.
“I commend security agencies for maintaining law and order and equally hail the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSIEC for the smooth conduct of the exercise.”
Some.peopple who took part in the election in several polling units and wards visited by OSBC correspondent described the process as peaceful and orderly without any hiccup.
Though, witnessed voter aparthy at the early hours on the election day, electorate later came out to exercise their franchise to choose their representatives at the grassroots level.
