Oluwo, Aare Dele Momodu Moving Forward, Facilitate Rehabilitation of Iwo-Ibadan Road
Yorubas are rich, verily, in pure culture, tradition which includes proverbial application. “Satide ti o da, Jimoh latimo” meaning “A fruitful Saturday will manifest from Friday. Few weeks ago, the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, announced the appointment of the renowned journalist, entrepreneur and activist, Chief Dele Momodu as the Aare.
In the course of announcement, issues relating to the development of Iwoland cropped up. Oluwo hinted on the adverse effect of the dilapidated Ibadan axis of the Iwo-Ibadan road on the economic activities of Iwoland.
In a jiffy, Chief Dele Momodu swung into action, initiated talks with the number one man in the Federal Ministry of Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola.
According to Chief Momodu “Just received a call from The Oluwo of Iwo Kingdom OBA ABDULRASHEED ADEWALE AKANBI about the ongoing rehabilitation of the Ibadan-Iwo road by the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA). He had pleaded with me two weeks ago to intervene as The Aare designate and ensure the terrible road is repaired. I immediately reached out to the brilliant Minister of Works and Housing MR BABATUNDE RAJI FASHOLA who promptly contacted the FERMA MD. I’m very grateful to His Excellency BRF and ENGINEER NURUDEEN RAFINDADI, the MD of FERMA for this great honor… The good people of IWO are very excited and The King is particularly grateful”
At the wee hour of today, Wednesday 29th September,2021, equipment were mobilized and rehabilitation works commenced immediately.
Reacting, the Oluwo of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, appreciated the federal government for the swift response. He equally lauded the Minister of Works, Raji Fashola for quick consideration and relief to lubricate the economic opportunities not only for Iwo but between Osun and Oyo States.
Oluwo described Aare as a man of many channels to influence growth and development.
Aare pledged to continously extend his influence at positively position Iwoland at every available advantage.
