The wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, has called for urgent action to address sexual harassment rampant among lecturers in this Nation.
Aisha made this assertion in Lagos. She further stated that the issue of sexual harassment against women is not unique to Universities alone but has also become prevalent in the society, including religious settings.
She stressed that sexual harassment against Students is unacceptable as the Nation’s education sector has suffered many setbacks which have hindered its development in the past.
While explaining the laws protecting victims of sexual harassment and abuse, she also made it known that those laws cannot operate by itself except the victims speak out to get justice.
